CAREL Controls South Africa showcases innovation and efficiency at FRIGAIR 2025

CAREL Controls South Africa is proud to announce its participation in FRIGAIR 2025, the leading HVAC&R trade show in Africa, taking place from 4 to 6 June 2025 at the Gallagher Convention Centre. At this year’s event, CAREL will present a wide range of advanced solutions designed to enhance energy efficiency, sustainability, and system performance across refrigeration and air handling applications.

The new solution presented at the show is MPXPRO, a key device for a modern and fully-integrated refrigeration system, that completes the range of latest-generation products, ranging from the compact MPXzero version and the versatile MPXone. CAREL developed it for the specific needs of the food retail segment, from stand-alone (plug-in) units with variable-speed compressors, to remote cabinets and cold rooms equipped with electronic expansion valves. All the solutions share a common family feeling in terms of HMI aesthetics and configuration, making the entire proposal scalable in terms of features, and consistent in ease of use.

A key highlight will be the µRack CO, a flexible and cost-effective control solution that expands CAREL’s CO₂ refrigeration portfolio. µRack CO₂ can be configured as a complete rack management system for transcritical CO₂ applications or as a stand-alone controller for HPV and FGBV valves, making it ideal for both new and retrofit installations.

Also on display will be iJ, the latest controller platform for food service. Designed for plug-ins, bottle coolers, and display cabinets, iJ offers Bluetooth connectivity via the CAREL APPLICA app. For the HO.RE.CA. sector, CAREL will showcase robust, customisable control solutions that ensure optimal food preservation and seamless integration into professional kitchen environments.

In the air handling segment, CAREL will present its co-engineered AHU solutions, featuring programmable c.pCO controllers and the STone development platform. These tools enable tailored software development, enhanced cybersecurity, and high-performance control logic. Complementary components such as thermal break dampersEXstream heat exchangers, and HPS adiabatic humidifiers will also be featured.

Finally, CAREL will demonstrate RED optimise, its AI-powered cloud platform for building energy monitoring and predictive maintenance, helping customers reduce CO₂ emissions and operational costs.
